Now days, we’re getting more and more Android phones, in which most of them are affordable. Likewise, Zopo Mobiles have brought out a new Android powered smartphone, the Zopo ZP950 Max at an affordable price. Ok, I’m not saying it’s affordable. First you examine it and then let me know, whether it’s affordable or not. The new Zopo ZP950 Max is an advanced version of Zopo ZP900. It’s a new flagship product from Zopo Mobiles that brings bigger 5.7-inch display, latest Jelly Bean OS, a dual core processor, a better camera, and many more.
What you’ll find inside the box?
Anyways, you’re going to get a big packet here. Its sale box will include the 5.7-inch Zopo phablet, you also get a travel charger for your traveling convenient, an USB data cable for transferring your data, a headphone for music lovers, a 2500mAh battery, and as usual an user manual.
Display & Design
The handset (no it’s not a handset!), the phablet has a big 5.7-inch HD IPS TFT multi-touch capacitive screen that with 1280 x 720 pixels resolution and support 16 million colors. Anyone will love to play games, watch movies, and preview photos with a bigger screen like this. But only disadvantage is, it has a too big display for a smartphone. It might be difficult for you to hold the phablet with one hand but it’s nice to play games especially for me, because I hold with two hands when I play games in mobiles. Most importantly, its IPS panel makes the display to view sharper and clearer contents. It’s quite thin and lightweight, even with a big display. Its body dimensions are 83.4 x 158 x 10.2mm and weigh about 202 grams with battery. It has a signing back panel, where you can find its speaker and 8MP camera. On its right side you’ll find two buttons; one for volume up & down and other for lock.
How powerful the Zopo ZP950 Max is?
Processor: Under the hood you will find an ARMv7 dual core Cortex-A9 processor that clocked 1GHz and based on MTK MT6577 chipset. But expected come with a quad core version in 2013 too. Even more the phablet is boasted by a POWER VR SGX531T graphics processor unit inside it.
Memory: You will be satisfied with 4GB of internal storage and 1GB of RAM, though it’s enough. Furthermore you can also go up to 32GB external memory by using a MicroSD card.
OS: You can experience the Google’s Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean operating system inside it, though there is no further plan to upgrade v4.2.
Battery: It has a Li-Polymer 2500mAh battery pack that can let you to go up to a week of standby i.e. around 130-200 hours.
Camera & Multimedia
It packs a nice 8MP snapper at rear with auto-focus and LED flash. The camera has the capability to capture videos in 720P (1280 x 720) at 30FPS and can also able to playback 1080P (1920 x 1080) videos. In addition, it also comes with a front-facing camera of 2MP. The phablet supports MP4/3GP/MOV/MPEG/MKV/FLV, etc as video formats, and compatible with MP3/AMR/AAC/ASF/Ape/Flac audio files. You can also view JPEG/PNG/GIF/BMP images files on its 5.7-ich display.
It’s a dual SIM (WCDMAGSM+GSM) supported device with dual standby capability that can work on GSM 850/900/1800/1900 MHz 2G networks and WCDMA HSPDA 3G networks. It can deliver HSDPA 7.2Mbps and HSUPA 5.76Mbps. Other connectivity options are; WiFi 802.11 b/g/n with hotspot and tethering functionality. It also comes equipped with Bluetooth v3.0, GPS with A-GPS, and micro USB v2.0.
Apps & Other features
As it’s an Android smartphone, so you can find a bunch of apps inside it along with the advantages of download from Google Play Store. The handset come Facebook, Twitter, Youtube, Skype, Google Maps, Google Talk, Google Mail, Google Calendar, etc. In addition, the handset supports Gravity Sensor, Light sensor and proximity sensor plus digital compass too.
Is Zopo ZP950 Max affordable as compared to its features?
The Phablet is priced at Rs. 15,999, though it looks slight expensive at first glance but its features say something else. Zopo Mobiles previous model is currently available at the same Rs. 15,999/- with many low end features than ZP950 Max. But its price might be dropped within few days after the new one launched. There is also another similar range smartphone available in the market, called the Wammy Sensation but its features don’t looks quite impressive against the new Zopo ZP950 Max. So, all the way you’re going to pay for a big 5.7-inch phablet which comes with an advanced OS, better processor, great camera, and much more.
Even more ZOPO CTO Ken has confirmed that, they are also planning for a quad core version, but in 2013. So, it’s obvious that dual core version is going to be more affordable in near feature when the quad core version will be arrived the market. It’s currently available over Zopo India website for preorder and will be available in India from 15th December.
